Conceived in 2020 4Line Studio was formed around the idea that truly good design is derived from a holistic and interdisciplinary process that blends the creative and the practical. Founded by Chris Ford and Byron Cline with over 25 combined years of experience, 4Line Studio brings a diverse portfolio to each new project giving its clients a breadth of experience that is unmatched. Driven by the ideals of design excellence paired with the desire to deliver the highest quality product, 4Line Studio’s process driven approach delivers balanced solutions to its client’s toughest problems.
Chris Ford
RA, PLA, LEED AP BD+C, SITES AP
Chris is a licensed Architect and a licensed Landscape Architect who consistently strives for excellence in all phases of the design process. His attention to detail is paired with a passion for design and an emphasis on integrated and sustainable solutions. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture and a Master of Architecture degree from Arizona State University, Chris is a native Arizonan who grew up in a construction family giving him an appreciation for the relationship between the design process and execution of the design in the field. Chris’s career has primarily been focused on designing and managing large scale projects for various municipal and commercial clients on both the architecture and landscape fronts throughout the state of Arizona. His background in both architecture and landscape design allows him to consistently blur the lines between interior and exterior spaces while also emphasizing the importance of each project’s context and regional aesthetic.
Byron Cline
Along with his time in commercial and residential architecture, Byron’s career has also included work in golf course design, interior design, millwork, and furniture design. His experience dealing with varying project types and scales, including both international and local projects, gives him a unique perspective on design and programming that he brings to each project at 4Line Studio. His passion for artistry and craftsmanship drives his design approach through an emphasis on the relationship between the concept and execution. Byron was born and raised in Arizona and earned his Bachelor of Science in Design for Architectural Studies from Arizona State University which gave him the opportunity to explore these varying facets of design and architecture. His time spent on interior focused projects, both in design and fabrication, allows him to bridge the gap that often exists between the architecture, interior design, and fabricators by cohesively developing a palette and design that not only can be practically delivered but also ties the interior and architecture together making them feel one in the same.
